The Story Behind the Music

Origins

Alexandros Tsopozidis was born on January 1, 1986, in the village of Sameba (Guniakala), Georgia. Of Pontic Greek heritage, he grew up surrounded by the rich musical traditions of the Caucasus region, where Eastern melodies intertwined with Greek folk rhythms.

In 1998, at the age of 12, Alexandros moved with his family to Paphos, Cyprus, where he began a new chapter of his life. Initially drawn to athletics, he trained at a Cyprus football academy with dreams of a professional sports career.

From Football to Music

At his parents' request, Alexandros left football behind and discovered his true calling — music. In 2011, he began his musical journey in earnest, and his talent quickly caught the attention of Russian producer Kemran Amirov, who helped launch his career.

Career

His debut duet with Eldar Dalgatov, 'Mozhet Ty Vernyoshsya' (Maybe You'll Return), introduced him to Russian-speaking audiences. But it was his collaboration with Elbrus Dzhanmirzoev on 'Brodyaga' (Wanderer) that catapulted him to fame, amassing over 22 million views on YouTube.
